Nuremberg- city of gingerbread and toys or the city of the dark history of the Third Reich?
The capital of Franconia, one of the most beautiful places in Germany. A medieval city with unique half-timbered streets, bridges and an ancient fortress.
In the past, a free imperial city, the richest and largest in Germany. City of the German Renaissance. The city of the world famous and the greatest people – Albrecht Dürer, Hans Sachs, Martin Beheim, Peter Henlein. The city of the largest Christmas market, held every year since 1626.
Nuremberg is also a city whose history is closely connected with the Third Reich. After the war, the entire city was in ruins, about 90% of all buildings were destroyed. But one building remained virtually undamaged, apart from broken windows and a damaged roof – that was the Palace of Justice.
During this day trip I will try to show you the multifaceted Nuremberg from all sides.
